Huawei has expanded its foldable portfolio with the launch of the Huawei Mate XT, a device that blends futuristic design with flagship performance. As competition in the foldable space heats up with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Oppo’s Find N3, Huawei is aiming to set a new benchmark for foldable innovation in 2025.
Foldable OLED Display
The Huawei Mate XT features an 8-inch foldable OLED display when opened, with 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. When folded, it offers a 6.5-inch cover screen that also supports HDR10+. Huawei has worked on reducing the crease visibility, and the result is a smoother, more premium folding experience.
The phone’s body is made from aerospace-grade aluminum with Gorilla Glass protection on the outer panel. It is surprisingly slim for a foldable, with a thickness of just 10.5mm when closed.
Kirin 9020 Performance
The Huawei Mate XT is powered by Huawei’s in-house Kirin 9020 chipset, built on 3nm technology. Designed for AI-driven performance, it offers strong efficiency and handles heavy tasks like gaming, 4K editing, and multitasking without stutter. Paired with 12GB/16GB RAM and storage up to 1TB, the Mate XT is a beast under the hood.
